Convallaria pseudomajalis (American Lily-of-the-Valley)
Say what? A Lily-of-the-Valley native to high elevations of Southern Appalachia? That is close enough for us to include it in our Kentucky Native Plant Collection. It does highlight though our concern on labeling plants to inside political lines on a map! A better description would be a plant that can be found in the high elevations of the Southern Appalachians similar to those area of Harlan and Letcher counties in far Southeastern Kentucky. It is very similar to, but not nearly as aggressive as, the Eurasian species.
