Carex buchananii 'Red Rooster' (Leatherleaf Sedge)

Yep, it looks dead all year. We are using these in the 2022 annual displays in the gardens at Yew Dell and have a few left over to sell.  Standing about 2 feet tall this sedge has brown foliage that makes it look more like a dormant grass during the winter.  It isn't cold hardy here but it can add some fantastic contrast to a summer planter.
