Cimicifuga ramosa Hillside Black Beauty
Bugbane | This plant used to be Actaea simplex but has now been moved to the genus Cimicifuga. But it is still the best one out there! 5'-tall, fine textured masses of deep burgundy foliage are topped in late summer by white/pink flower spikes. Excellent masser in light shade or even as a specimen plant. Good pollinator plant and cut flower as well. Highly deer resistant.
