Epimedium grandiflorum 'Purple Pixie' (Barrenwort)

Epimediums have their place in any shade garden frequented by deer. They will even do very well in dry shade! If you want the best showing of this plant put it shade with adequate moisture, cut back in January/February and enjoy the beautiful flowers in April. Purple Pixie obviously has purple flowers but also has burgundy throughout the leaf all summer long.  Photo shows new spring growth.
