Rhododendron 'Weston's Pennsylvania'
Azalea | The summer-blooming native azalea hybrids (Rhododendron viscosum, R. arborescens, etc.) are a much overlooked group. Growing slowly to about 4' tall with a fine texture in stem and leaf, they are covered with sweetly fragrant blooms in early summer, well after the typical spring blooming azaleas are done doing their thing. Give sun to part shade with adequate moisture and a soil with some organic matter amendment. 'Weston's Pennsylvania' has deep pink lowers with an orange blotch. One of the latest of the group to bloom.
