Rudbeckia subtomentosa Henry Eilers
Sweet Coneflower | A big old beast of a plant - in a good way. :Topping out as much as 6' tall, this erect grower is topped in mid/late summer with huge masses of Black Eyed Susan-like flowers but with a twist. Each petal is a narrow streak of yellow up to the tip that opens up to an almost spoon-like end. Great for the sunny border or in a stylized meadow planting, if grown with too much moisture it may need staking., Heat and drought tolerant. Good cut. Excellent pollinator plant.
