Evergreens

One of the best times to wander the gardens at Yew Dell is during the winter months when our evergreen collections are the most visible.  Often overlooked in the warm months when all of the herbaceous and deciduous plants are putting on shows, evergreens provide a backbone to the garden.  A weeping specimen of a spruce or a small hedge of a holly can add background during the summer garden and emphasis in the winter garden.
