Belamcanda 'Freckle Face' (Blackberry Lily)

Regular price $16.00

Although Lily is in the name, this unique plant is actually in the Iris family, and its blue-green swordlike foliage presents as such. Unlike other common Iris, this species has flower stalks that produce a profusion of blooms as opposed to a single large bloom. The flowers themselves are orange with red speckling all over the petals and emerge throughout the summer. The name Blackberry Lily comes from the mature, tan fruits which open up with tons of tiny black seed clusters resembling blackberries. Photo courtesy of Walters Gardens
