A common name that can be quite confusing until you dig the plant up and look at its underground structure.  Even Chip and Dale might get confused by the small bright yellow corms that can be about the size of a kernel of corn.  Native to Kentucky this cool little plant will be up in the garden in early spring with very delicate, feathery leaves in a gray/green color.  The clusters of white flowers stand above the short foliage and resemble hearts.
