In October when most everything else is well on its way to becoming dormant after a long growing season of heat, rain, drought, and storms this mum is blooming like crazy in the Pavilion Garden at Yew Dell. With few flowers left for pollinators to feed on this plant is buzzing all day long with all sorts of insects. It loves full sun and will spread over time and form a nice mass planting in the garden. It can grow to over 2 feet tall but a cut back in early July can control some height and make for more flowers in the fall.
