This is a more robust selection of our much beloved native woodland wildflower. 6 to 8" masses of sword-like foliage and rich blue spring iris flowers. The flowers of 'Powder Blue Giant' are much larger than the straight species and can reach up to 3"across! Grow in filtered light on well drained soil. This selection was made not far from Louisville. Samuel Norris (1921-2002) of Owensboro, Kentucky discovered this selection growing in Leitchfield, Kentucky.
