Iris cristata 'Powder Blue Giant' (Dwarf Crested Iris)

This is a more robust selection of our much beloved native woodland wildflower. 6 to 8 inch masses of sword-like foliage and rich blue spring iris flowers.  The flowers of 'Powder Blue Giant' are much larger than the straight species and can reach up to 3 inches across! Grow in filtered light on well drained soil. This selection was made not far from Louisville. Samuel Norris (1921-2002) of Owensboro, Kentucky discovered this selection growing in Leitchfield, Kentucky.
