A classic compliment to the shade garden. This is the original, straight species Bleeding Heart that has been a mainstay in the landscape for decades. Herbaceous stems originate from eyes just below the soil surface to form a bush form. Powder green foliage is sharply lobed. The flower stalks arch beautifully all around the plant with puffy rose-pink, heart-shaped blooms. The hearts drip with a white taper, thus its namesake. Photo courtesy of Walters Gardens.
