A non-vining clematis? Yep. 2" purple flowers hang down on a plant that can grow exceedingly tall if given something to grow through like a chain link fence or other trellis-like feature. It just doesn't grab on though. One of the best ways to use it is to leave it alone in a perennial border and let it crawl around where it wants to.
