This large fern has a vase-like form from the large fronds that emerge. Somewhat similar to the Ostrich fern, but the name comes from the fact that its fronds appear to be "interrupted" in the middle by a section of dark, spore-bearing leaflets during the spring.  Photo courtesy of Casa Flora.
