A native warm-season bunch grass that is quite tolerant of many soil conditions. A compact and vertical habit, wonderful pairing with full sun perennials to create a prairie/grassland aesthetic. Foliage is blue green, turning to a stunning gold in the autumn for multi-season interest. The flowers are tight plumes but make a huge impact with the sheer number of them. This species, along with the native Bluestems, Indiangrass, and Switchgrass are highly important for prairie ecosystem restoration and quail populations.
