This small, wooly shrub (or large perennial?) has a grey appearance on the stems and leaves due to the density of fine hairs it has to minimize water loss in its native range in the desert portions of the southwest U.S. Instead of a few very large Mallow flowers, this species has multitudes of smaller apricot orange blooms. Use this one in a rock garden or a container with well-draining gravely soil. *
