This variety is actually a seed selection from a naturally-occurring hybrid of Scutellaria ovata and S. serrata. It is a very manageable size to add throughout the garden and excels in shady or sunny conditions. It not only tolerates but thrives in dry soils. Stalks of uniquely-shaped flowers have a purple upper hood transitioning to white on the lower portion. Bees of all kinds adore this plant!
